Lillian Smith "Race To End Abuse" 5K/Walk Events

The Lillian Smith "Race To End Abuse" is a series of USATF-sanctioned 5K races & 1K family fitness walks which:

Increase awareness of the battle against domestic, dating, child and pet abuse

Raise funds for advertising/public relations educational campaigns in media, schools and communities, plus for victim and abuser assistance

Celebrate survivorship of abuse

Remember and honor the millions of victims who have either been injured or lost their lives

This is the only event devoted exclusively to raising awareness and funds for campaigns in media, schools and communities to prevent and end abuse across Texas and the nation. Other races or walks related to this cause raise money for the operation of women's shelters or related non-profit agencies.

2010 SECOND ANNUAL RACE TO END ABUSE 5K/WALK

The second annual Lillian Smith Rockwall Race To End Abuse 5K/Walk is scheduled Nov.13, 2010 at 9 am behind the Kroger Food Store on Arista Dr.

The Rockwall Walmart Supercenter has again agreed to be a major sponsor and donate all of the water, energy drinks, snacks, fruit and prizes we need.

2009 FIRST ANNUAL RACE TO END ABUSE 5K/WALK

The first annual Rockwall 5K Race/Walk was held Oct. 31, 2009, at the Kroger Food Store in Rockwall, 30 miles east of downtown Dallas on I-30, on the eastern shore of beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard.

Title sponsor was Heritage Christian Academy. Presenting sponsor was Walmart.
